Management Development Toolkit
The Management Development Toolkit (MDT) is an intensive, one day program, addressing several fundamental aspects of leadership. Providing an opportunity for current and aspiring workplace managers to step back, reflect and refocus on their leadership aspirations, the MDT explores four elements critical to reaching one’s leadership potential.
The MDT commences with an exploration of critical individual leadership competencies. Participants will explore the differences between management and leadership and the ways in which individuals can demonstrate both management and leadership in their role. Participants will also explore what followers expect of their leaders and the implications of these expectations on their own leadership style.
In the second module, participants consider the ethical dimensions of their day-to-day roles and identify the relationship between demonstrable, values-driven leadership and effective working environments. The third module explores the skill of influence, in particular, how effective leaders draw on different influencing tactics to best suit the person and situation they are in.
The last module looks at the role of resilience – particularly during difficult times. Participants are asked to consider resilience at both a personal and strategic leadership level. In addition, participants identify ways to strengthen their teams, and manage crises more sustainably.
During the program participants will develop the skills to:
- Understand and leverage one’s management style
- Operate effectively within a framework of values & ethics
- Build exceptional teams through positive influence
- Understand ways to develop greater personal resilience
Full day interactive workshop.
This program is suitable for junior – mid level managers.
